Nearly a Quarter Million Reasons Why Melania Trump Likes GOP Gays

Melanie Trump has pretty much distanced herself from her husband's third Presidential campaign. While she appeared at her husband's side on the last night of the Republican National Convention last month, she did not speak to the delegates. Nor has she been seen in public since, according to the Daily Mail, which is unusual for the wife of a presidential candidate in the midst of a heated campaign.

But two campaign appearances she did make, one in April and a second in July, are making headlines, if only for the whopping fee she received for the first. According to financial disclosure reports verified by Newsweek, "Melania Trump pulled in over $237,000 for one speaking engagement in April 2024. The event was an address to Log Cabin Republicans in Palm Beach, Florida. The group describes itself as an organization for 'LGBT conservatives and our straight allies.'

"Melania Trump hosted a second fundraiser for the Log Cabin Republicans at Trump Tower in July 2024. According to Richard Grenell, Trump's former acting director of national intelligence, the July event raised $1.4 million. However, anything earned by Melania Trump at this event is not listed on the financial disclosures."

Page Six reported that according a "spy" at the Trump Tower event, Melania "stunned all in attendance" wearing a "fire engine red Valentino dress with appliqué flowers in the same fabric and Christian Louboutin pumps."

"Melania hosted an intimate gathering of megadonors at her and her husband's penthouse to drum up donations to the Log Cabin Republicans, the conservative LGBT group," Page Six detailed.

"Hors d'oeuvres and Champagne flowed as the first lady generously welcomed the guests to her home with off-the-cuff remarks," a guest told Page Six.

"Attendees included Kellyanne Conway, ex-Sen. Kelly Loeffler, former cabinet member Ric Grenell, Nazee Moinian, former diplomats Georgette Mosbacher and John Rakolta and his wife, Terry, Bill White and Bryan Eure, former US Attorney General Matt Whitaker and Melania's stylist Hervé Pierre," the tabloid went on to note.

The publication heard from one attendee that "Melania took photos and gave a beautiful speech about the importance of unity. She also said about the election, 'We will see what happens, but, we must win.' "

Added the newspaper: "The funds raised go to an outreach initiative for swing-state voters, namely suburban women, and gay and lesbian conservatives in battleground states.

"The event set a fund-raising record for the LCR, according to its president, Charles Moran."
