Audiences who discovered Danny Ramirez in "Top Gun: Maverick" will rejoice at his new casting opposite Joaquin Phoenix in Todd Haynes' next movie – a detective flick with a hot queer spin.

"Details have been thin on the ground so far," Deadline reported on the as-yet-untitled project, "but the movie is said to follow two men, one played by Phoenix, who are intense lovers and leave California for Mexico."

The Hindu took note of Ramirez's return to the MCU in the next "Captain America" movie, contrasting that role with Phoenix's return as Batman's most relentless foe in Todd Phillips' upcoming "Joker: Folie à Deux," which is set to co-star Lady Gaga and premiere in October.

The "Black Mirror" actor "will also be seen in the second season of the HBO series 'The Last of Us,'" Deadline reported.

Catch a glimpse of Ramirez in the just-released teaser for "Captain America: Brave New World," due in theaters in February.
