House Speaker Mike Johnson Is Cozy with Publisher That Said Monkeypox Is 'Penalty' for Gayness

House Speaker Mike Johnson's ties to anti-gay believes just keep coming to the surface. After it was revealed that his wife Kelly runs a Bible-based counseling business that compares homosexuality to bestiality and incest, it has now been revealed that Johnson sits on the board of a very homophobic Christian publishing company.

As reported by Politico, Johnson is a board member at Living Waters Publishing, which doubles as a publisher and ministry.

A few of their beliefs include that former President Barack Obama might have been the Antichrist because of his "leanings toward Islam" and a believe that the Almighty brought monkeypox upon gay people as a "penalty" for their sins.

Johnson and his wife Kelly have interviewed the CEO of Living Waters Ray Comfort on their podcast, but it has since been deleted.

But last year, Comfort narrated a Living Waters video titled "Monkeypox and God: Is It a 'Gay Disease'?" in which he made the wild connection about the disease being the "inevitable and appropriate penalty" for homosexual acts.

What's more is, Comfort also seemed to take issue that Christians could no longer call homosexuality "morally wrong."

"There was a time in America when we could say these things without any real repercussions," he said in a Living Waters article.

About Johnson's connection to Living Waters, a spokesperson for the House Speaker clarified, "Speaker Johnson joined the board of Living Waters years ago in support of its mission of spreading Christian gospel." They added, "His involvement was limited to two phone calls with fellow board members annually. He had not seen the content in question, was not aware of it, and does not agree with it."
