Friday November 8, 2019

Amazing news for fans of "Weeds"!

The drama is returning to TV for a sequel, leaving its original home on Showtime and airing on Starz. But its star Mary-Louise Parker will return, reprising her role as Nancy Botwin, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The sequel will follow Nancy and her family a decade after the original series; a new era where weed has started to become legalized across the country.

"Weeds" originally aired on Showtime from 2005 through 2012. Victoria Morrow, a writer and co-executive producer on the Showtime show, will return to the Starz version, writing the sequel and serving as an executive producer. Jenji Kohan, the "Weeds" creator, is not currently involved in the new project.

"We're thrilled to be back in business with series star and executive producer Mary-Louise Parker on what we're calling 'Weeds 4.20,' already in active development at Starz, as we prepare a comprehensive and integrated rollout for one of television's most beloved properties," Lionsgate CEO John Feltheimer said, according to THR.
