HBO is showing fans the first look of the special holiday-themed episode of "Euphoria," starring Zendaya, who recently won an Emmy award for Outstanding Actress for her role on the show Rue, a teen struggling with addiction and depression.

The episode, "Part 1: Rue," which airs Sunday, is not part of Season 2 but instead a bridge between the first two seasons. Like most of Hollywood, the pandemic halted production on the teen drama's second season.

Judging from the trailer, it looks like the special episode will pick up not long after Season 1 ended.

"In the aftermath of being left by Jules at the train station and relapsing, the first special episode follows Rue (Zendaya) as she celebrates Christmas," HBO writes of the episode in a press release. "Written and directed by series creator Sam Levinson, the episode, titled 'Trouble Don't Last Always,' also stars Colman Domingo, who appeared in season one."

HBO goes on to say: "The title and date of the second episode are forthcoming. Both special episodes were produced under COVID-19 guidelines."

It's unclear when the second episode will air. Check out the trailer below.
