'Queer Eye' Candidate AJ Brown Announces Engagement to Boyfriend

Monday February 26, 2018

Weeks after Netflix dropped its "Queer Eye" reboot, one of the show's candidates, AJ Brown, who appeared in arguably the best episode of the season where the Fab Five helped him come out to his stepmother, has announced he is engaged.

The official "Queer Eye" Twitter account made the announcement last week, writing, "WE'VE GOT SOME NEWS THAT WILL MAKE YOUR WEEK! AJ AND DREY GOT ENGAGED. OUR GAY HEARTS ARE EXPLODING!"

The message came with a video of AJ coming out to his stepmom at the end of the fourth episode.

The new Fab Five were quick to congratulate AJ.

"Yay, what wonderful news!!!!" Tan France, the show's fashion guy, wrote.

"Couldn't be happier about this news! Congrats, boys," Antoni Porowski, the food and wine guy, added.

Fans of "Queer Eye" also reacted to the news with messages of support.

AJ was featured on one of the most interesting episodes of the new "Queer Eye" series, where the Fab Five helped him deal with being gay and share his life with his stepmother. Read EDGE's review of the episode, and the rest of the season, by clicking here.
