"Grace and Frankie" may be approaching its end, but Netflix may have a new series ready to fill its spot.

Variety is reporting that Jane Lynch and Cyndi Lauper are teaming up to star and create a new comedy series that could be hitting the streaming service. The actor revealed the news backstage at the Creative Arts Emmys that she and the "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" singer will costar in a comedy that she called as a "kind of 'Golden Girls' for today."

According to Variety's report, it looks like comedian Carol Leifer ("Seinfeld") is involved in the as yet untitled series.

"It's official, heading out next with a new half-hour comedy, starring Jane Lynch and Cyndi Lauper," Leifer reportedly wrote on Facebook in July. "A writer's dream to work with these two legends. Can't wait to see where we land..."

At the Emmys ceremony, Lynch, who won the Emmy for guest actress in a comedy series for her role on "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," said the show was going to Netflix.

"I pitched a show to Netflix and they bought it. I don't know if I can even tell you, but it's with Cyndi Lauper, so there! We'll see," she said, according to Variety. "We're our age, I'm almost 60 and she's 65, and we're looking for our next act, without ever having had husbands of children. And there will be two other people who haven't been cast yet. But its kind of a 'Golden Girls' for today."
