Catching up with Ricky Sinz

Being one of the largest porn house hubs in the world, San Francisco definitely has its share of gay porn stars roaming the streets. But Raging Stallion Studios just happens to be the home of one of the adult film industry's biggest stars, Chicagoan Ricky Sinz, who will be in San Francisco for two of the hottest parties benefiting the St. James Infirmary this week, Michael Brandon Presents' Four Play at the Mix on Friday, March 26, 2010 and Endowment at Harry Denton's Starlight Room on Sunday, March 28, 2010.

It is always a pleasure to be in the company of Ricky for obvious reasons, but for the not so obvious reasons, is why I enjoy talking with him when I get a chance. His visit provided another opportunity for me to catch up with the mega porn star and find out his thoughts on the San Francisco porn culture, his philanthropic activities, and working with the legendary Michael Brandon.

Performing in San Francisco

BeBe: It’s been awhile since we have seen your solo show in San Francisco. Do you like performing before a San Francisco crowd?

Ricky: I love performing in San Francisco, people from San Francisco are a unique breed with a great mentality. San Franciscans have a mindset that is warm, opening and inviting for people in my industry. Considering it is one of the biggest porn hubs in the world, makes it a lot of fun because the atmosphere is always very sexually charged

BeBe: Will you be doing a true solo act, or do you have some supporting help from some fellow porn stars?

Ricky: It depends. I love performing alone, with other models or even with someone I’ll see in the club. It all depends. Like most things, It’s always more fun with friends.

BeBe: What sets your stage performance apart from some others?

Ricky: I’m very high energy, and I really don’t have any limits when it comes to performing on a stage. I am a total exhibitionist so the more people are into what I’m doing the more I give them. I have honestly blown huge loads on stages all over the world, and I want to blow even more on the stage with Michael Brandon there (laughs).

The Philanthropic Causes

BeBe: You work really hard on your websites which provide you the means to give back to the Chicago community. Can you tell me a little about your philanthropic work with the youth?

Ricky: I have a multitude of charities (to which) I donate a percentage of my profits from my websites, events, and sales from products. I have a variety of benefactors ranging from disabled youth groups, HIV and STD clinics, to disabled veterans and gay rights groups. During IML in Chicago this year, for example, I will be throwing a huge event in Friday, May 28th, at Jackhammer that will be raising funds for the St. James Infirmary in San Francisco, as well. I don’t feel that I need to limit charity work to Chicago when there are amazing groups making a difference for people all over the world.

BeBe: I know you are into producing and creating Hip Hop music. Are there any plans to combine your music with your porn modeling in a film?

Ricky: I produce and dj a variety of music ranging from hip hop to house music which has somehow merged itself with my porn career. There are those that know me as a porn star, and those that know me as a dj, and some people know about both. I try to keep the elements separate because when I’m spinning its all about the music and the energy. But when I throw an event, I merge the adult (film) world such as performers and stage acts with the music.

The Sinz/Brandon Connection

slug>BeBe: You have been Man of The Year at Raging Stallion Studios, and have won Entertainer of the Year at the GayVNS and Gabbys. What’s next for Ricky Sinz in the adult film world to accomplish after all this?

BeBe: In all honesty where can you go? I have been there, done that. I plan on continuing to star in films, develop projects, and direct and produce my own lines and work with other lines as long as making movies is fun. The day I wake up and say this isn’t fun anymore, I’ll retire or take a break. Other than that, I’m going to continue working on my music, travel to and perform on stages around the world.

BeBe: Have you and porn legend Michael Brandon worked together in a film?

Ricky: Michael has directed films that I have been in. I have rocked stages with Michael, and Michael and I have been friends for many years. He is a perfect example of what a true porn legend really is. The man is amazing. He is so genuine, kind and real. The man taught me a lot about porn, and (about) myself as a person. The man gives so much to so many and never asks for anything in return. I would love to work with Michael the Monster in a film, but for the love of God, he would have to go easy on me (laughs) because that’s a huge dick.

Be sure to catch Ricky Sinz on Friday and Sunday at Michael Brandon Presents’ Foreplay at the Mix, and Endowment at Harry Denton’s Starlight Room, respectively.
