The party purveyors at Matinée NYC are preparing for their most ambitious undertaking yet...adding a water park experience to the landscape of Pride parties that will dominate the New York City Pride weekend!

After having come down from a very successful week in Vegas for their Matinée Las Vegas Festival, the guys have successful turned Sin City into a regular gay destination with their now annual parties. Their event at Rain attracted over 3,000 people drawing crowds from all over the country as well as all over the world. Matinée NYC's Patrick Crough was particularly inspired by the success of that event. "We're very excited about how far we've come," Crough is referring to the work they've invested to perpetuate the Matinée brand in the states. "We're confidently able to put on a remarkably well attended festival."

Music festivals are beginning to supplant circuit events on the dance scene, but for Matinée it goes beyond just the music - it's about the lights, the sounds, and the fashion and production value that elevates the entire dance floor to new heights.

"We're all about creating a total experience with our events," says Matinée NYC's Jake Resnicow. "We're going to do first ever water park party in New York City!" The original Matinée production team in Spain has executed it before. "There's something amazing about that festival and we wanted to bring that here to New York." Keeping with Matinée's incredible production values the gentlemen are planning on turning their venue into a splashdown spectacular with water slides and all!

And for the ticket price, compared to other events across the national circuit scene, you will get more bang for your buck! "We're not about having a party for the sake of the party," Resnicow promises. "We want to give people a reason a come out. This will be a Matinée experience." This will be a full experience unlike anything Pride has seen before. "We want people to have as much fun as they are expecting to have," Crough adds.

Let It Rain...

The expectations continue to escalate when people hear that Matinée is producing an event. That doesn’t escape either one of these party professionals in the least - in fact...they hope that everyone’s expectations are high!

Not ones to skimp on the cutting edge sounds of today’s biggest festival deejays, DJ and Matinée NYC favorite Hector Fonseca is back and he will be joined by DJ Taito Tikaro who is also headlining on this double billing. These two powerhouses will have to contend with a crowd that is going to be warmed up by none other than DJ Billy Lace, promising to guarantee his place in the sun as the party revelers arrive on Governor’s Island.

The decision to place the Matinée NYC 2012 Pride event at Governors Beach Club is a nostalgic return to greatness for the party architects. "It will have the same magic as our debut event, "says Resnicow reflecting on their legendary Pride event from two years ago, "but with next-generation lighting, sound and production." That promises to rival that of their current Vegas gigs, and is reminiscent of the recent majesty of the Electric Zoo Festival and Electric Daisy Carnival.

Catch A Ferry to the Party!

In true music festival tradition the guys have also promised a live musical guest, and like their Matinée events in the past, you can expect it to be a real treat, but in the meantime thrill to the 30-some dancers that will keep the beat jumping!

The team will also be working steadily with the city to make sure that ferries will be running frequently from the South Street Seaport location and that the open air beach, 4-story tent and state of the art sound system awaiting visitors will be only surpassed by the extraordinary views of New York City. How’s that for a Pride event unlike any other?!

Let’s get soaking wet! Saturday, June 23 for Matinée NYC Pride 2012 event at the Governors Beach Club, 10 South Street, NYC. The party starts at 4pm and will featuring the sounds of Matinée NYC headlining DJ Hector Fonseca with Taito Tikaro, and a surprise celebrity performance by one of music’s reigning pop superstars - you don’t want to miss that. Let it rain!
